Aidan Steinbach
I work at the intersection of banking and technology in San Francisco. I also advise early-stage founders and invest at the seed stage.
I work at Erebor, an OCC-chartered bank founded by Palmer Luckey and backed by Andreessen Horowitz, Founders Fund, 8VC, Lux Capital, and many others. I work in a sales capacity.
Before Erebor, I was one of the first hires at Rho in their San Francisco office, brought on to open that part of the market. We started at a table in an Airbnb, and the team grew more than 15x before I left.
Earlier I was at Brex, and before that at DebtBook, a municipal bond technology startup.
On weekends I run Steinbach Ventures, a go-to-market consulting practice for early-stage, venture-backed startups, usually in the $0 to $2M ARR window. I work with founders backed by Andreessen Horowitz, Y Combinator, South Park Commons, and many others. You can read more about that here.
I also invest in seed-stage companies, and I tend to look first to the founders I already work with. Longer term, I want to build toward what I think of as venture equity, the place where private equity and venture capital meet. It's for the many startups that can't live up to the valuations they raised at but are good businesses in need of an exit.
A few things hold my attention: consumer behavior and behavioral economics, what technology is doing to the world, and fintech in particular. I love talking about the things I find interesting.
